DR. CHAPMAN: That’s why it’s important to act early and get your inflammation under control.

DR. CHAPMAN: Patients often ask me the different types of remission…clinical remission and endoscopic remission.

DR. CHAPMAN: We want to achieve both.

SUPER: Clinical Remission

DR. CHAPMAN: Clinical remission is when you feel better…when your symptoms have been relieved.

DR. CHAPMAN: But I don’t want to stop there.

SUPER: Endoscopic Remission

DR. CHAPMAN: Endoscopic remission, that is when we do an endoscopy, we’re able to see visible improvement of the intestinal lining.

DR. CHAPMAN: Even if you’re feeling okay, irreversible damage may be taking place on the inside, which can lead to serious, long-term consequences.
